FAQ: Does
it cost me more to find my architect or builder throgh ADC?
No - ADC members charge the same whether or not a client meets them
on their own or through ADC. Member firms plan for business development
costs such as photogrpahy, brochures, web sites, advertising, direct
mail, association dues, marketing staff (if firms can afford them)
or ADC on all their projects. Architects and builders have said
that the cooperative marketing structure of ADC has helped them
to lower their business development costs.
Why Architects and Builders Organized ADC
Network
Serving Potential Clients
For people wanting to build or remodel, tradtional word-of-mouth
Networks and random cold-calls leave much guess-work and are often
ineffective ways to find a well-matched spectrum of talented firms
for their projects. ADC provides a valuable service to customers
who plan to build or remodel by reviewing their ideas and needs
prior to introducing them to appropriate firms.
Only 3% to 5% of the public ever undertake a building project making
word-of-mouth Networks limiting at best.
Serving
Member Firms
Architects,
designers and contractors have traditionally grown their practices
by client Networks which is a passive method of marketing that
results in feast and famine cycles as well as limited creative opportunities.
ADC's marketing services help member firms become more stable and
active in their community, and we help generate opportunities for
our firms to work on more rewarding projects.
The
Network Process
Working with ADC is an interactive
process. We have developed a results-oriented approach to help our
clients identify their design needs and to find the best architects
and builders to meet those needs. We help make successful design
solutions possible.
PROJECT
DEFINITION / SETTING REALISTIC GOALS
Beginning with an in-depth interview, ADC helps clients
define their design requirements, establish budget and time-lines,
and review the scope of related services necessary to complete each
project successfully. An important part of this consultation is
helping our clients become aware of the various costs of building
that they have often not considered. Clients who are financially
realistic are better able to avoid stress and are more likely to
have a rewarding design and building process.
EXPLORING
THE POSSIBILITIES
By reviewing the images of a broad selection of related
projects with clients, ADC assesses their responses to a variety
of styles and approaches, some of which the client may never have
considered. ADC also familiarizes clients with:
Check and Balance Systems that help clients
build their project within budget and on schedule
Alternative Building Methods
The Design and Building Process versus
The Design/Bid Process
THE
IMPORTANCE OF CHEMISTRY
Since a good working relationship between client,
architect or designer, and builder is the foundation of a successful
project, a crucial part of our Network process is to link our clients
with design and building professionals whose work styles and personalities
are compatible.
INFORMATION-SYNTHESIS-DISCOVERY
Upon assessing our client's project needs, ADC will
contact the most appropriate design and/or building professionals
and verify their interest and availability for the project. For
more complex commercial projects, ADC may research architects, builders
and consultants outside of New Mexico, in order to insure that the
most qualified team of professionals is available to the client.
THE
FINAL SELECTION
The client is now ready to meet with the firms ADC
has referred. The names and phone numbers of these firms are given
to the client, along with an explanation as to why these firms are
good matches. The client then contacts these firms for meetings
at their own convenience. ADC continues to provide consultation
and support as needed to our clients throughout the design and building
process. If additional services are required, ADC will help the
client add compatible members to the project team, including construction
managers, water harvesting / recycling experts, landscape architects,
interior designers or Feng Shui consultants. Our commitment is to
service, superior design, affordability, ecology and the assurance
that the special needs of each project can and will be met.
